Aquarius Full Moon // Buck Moon ~ 29th July 2026

The Aquarius Buck Moon confidently takes up space in our sky on Wednesday 29th July, encouraging us to do the same by embodying empowered authenticity, dancing to the beat of our own drum and stepping into fierce freedom with strength and faith.

Aquarius energy is innovative and independent, intelligent and authentic - unafraid to think outside the box and to live outside the boxes the world tries to create for us. Now is the time to claim your unique power. If there’s something you’ve been dreaming to make happen, achieve or express, now is the time to take the leap with full confidence in yourself.

Aquarius is an air sign. If we look through an Ayurvedic lens, air is the second element of five, the first to evolve from Ether -  the bridge between realms, the intersect of visible and invisible. Air is akin to the force that sets all in motion, that which makes the rest of the elements of life possible. Consider how fire and water helix and flow with the shapes of air, how Earth and our bodies depend on the breath of our trees and lungs. Movement is life, and air is movement. Breath is life, and breath is air.

In Ayurveda, air and ether make up the vata constitution, which enables all the motions within your physical and subtle body and lives in all your physical and spiritual empty spaces. Vata is dry and rough in quality - balancing this with the use of oils is beneficial at this time. Vata is also light in quality - engaging in grounding practices at this time is essential to not get carried away on vata’s dreamy, mobile energy. We do also want to harness and engage with the potency of this energy - pay attention to your ideas, wishes, dreams and fantasies at this time, they could well be the channel to fulfilling your callings, stepping into that fierce aquarius power.

The chakra related to air is the heart, and listening to our heart whilst remaining grounded is also essential in embodying our authentic selves with freedom and moving into our unique, ideal destinies. Take meditative time to tune into your heart, perhaps breathing into the heartspace or doing some heart opening asanas - I recommend Moon Salutation F at this time.

The motion of air is a spiral - think only of cartoons of the wind! You could imagine the cycles of a spiral expanding with each cycle of breath and embody circles, arcs and spirals in your movement. This spiral movement is also true of our souls as we live and grow - ever expanding and returning and ascending. This is also a lot like the cycles of love. Air is also formless, invisible yet seen in the shapes and movements of others, unseen and felt, like love and the eternally formless yet shape shifting soul.

It is time to be both formless and to become. To set possibility into motion, to commit with confidence to your goals whilst remaining open and unattached to the shape that takes. It’s time to unleash your soul through your actions, to set yourself free into your wildest dreams and greatest, truest, most liberated self. Tune into your heart and dreams and get honest about them and what you need to do to bring them to fruition in reality, so you, like air, can get moving and expanding. It is a beneficial time to make commitments and decisions with clarity, be sure you are standing in Truth when you take them and embodying your most powerful, highest self as you enact them.

If this resonates with you and you’d like to dive deep into harnessing the energy of the Aquarius Buck Moon through movement, ritual, breathwork, artwork and more, join the circle for Full Moon Movement Alchemy on Sunday 26th July, 7-9pm at YogaLoom Muswell Hill! The Ritual

Gather: pen and paper // a candle // salt // flowers // rosemary // incense

Draw a vesica pisces with salt in the centre of your altar to signify balance between the realms air unifies and the opposing sides of what must be shed and what will become. Decorate the border with a salt circle, flowers and rosemary for abundance and protection.

Draw an anticlockwise spiral with incense smoke over your altar to cleanse the space.

Sway your arms in the shape of infinity, feeling the gravity and momentum, feeling the air brush against your skin and move you with your movement. Synchronise your breath with the movement too, inhaling with the rises and exhaling with the swooping falls.

Walk a repeated path of infinity for as long as feels right. On one side of the shape, envisage what you must shed and leave behind in order to step into the most authentic, empowered and successful version of yourself. As you walk the other side, envisage and embody the power, strength, confidence and freedom you are stepping into.

Draw a clockwise spiral with incense smoke over your altar to herald the energy you are working with toward you.

Light a candle in the centre of your vesica pisces.

Warm your hands over the flame then bring that warmth your heart three times.

Hold your hands to your heart. Meditate here a while with your eyes closed or on the flame.

Now write down any naturally occurring thoughts and feelings without judgement or inhibition, just flow.

Lift your chest and face to the sky.

Wrte down your greatest dreams, ideas, goals and ambitions.

Sit up straight or stand with power and speak them aloud with confidence, peace and joy, as if they have already happened.

Look into your eyes in a mirror and repeat - you can keep doing this as the moon waxes, and beyond!

Take a few deep breaths, then use your final exhale to blow out your candle. And so it is.
